After a year’s break we’re back with our biggest and best line up to date. Topping the bill we are extremely excited to announce Joy Orbison & Boddika - two producers who both individually and collaboratively need little introduction. It will be their first ‘&’ set, and what exactly that means is up to them. They will have their own separate sets but they may also play back to back in between, or they may not. My money is on them doing so but you’ll have to be there to find out.
Stream club banger Swims and forthcoming tracks Froth/Mercy here: http://soundcloud.com/boddikaWarming up proceedings will be resident Midland, whose genre bending tracks and collaborations released (Ramadanman) and unreleased (Pariah, Breach) have been making waves across the board. He has also been responsible for two of the best mixes of the last year or so with his FACT mix being a particular highlight. If you haven’t heard it yet click here to put this injustice right: http://www.mixcloud.com/FACTMixArchive/fact-mix-185-midland/
With a forthcoming 6 track EP on Will Saul’s Aus Music and a host of other things we can’t yet talk about right now, 2012 is set to be a hugeyear for Midland.
After impressing us so much with his set at The Rhythm Factory in London with Peverelist, Dark Sky and Pangaea in November, we see the return of young Mancunian Alex Coulton who burst on the scene last year with a split release with Szare. He followed that up with more fire, including the Representations, one of our favorite tracks by the year. Alex is definitely one to watch this year, with releases on Idle Hands in April and other labels shortly after and we are proud to give him his first Sheffield show.
